For decades one attempts to find solutions for the reuse of kilometers of discarded carpets. The biggest problem is that the top and backing of carpets consist of different non-renewable oil-based raw materials. Reuse of these materials is a challenge but due to the bonding method recycling is not optimal that is why most of the carpets are burnt in incinerators.

ERUTAN® (a joint venture of three Dutch companies) has come up with a method to make wool carpets from all-natural materials that can be re-processed after the use phase of the carpet. Hereby the biological cycle has been closed for 100%.

ERUTAN® is a breakthrough, which also forms the basis for the development of other products.
