• The construction of a more simple industrial process for the scouring of raw wool as an alternative to the conventional chemical approach and the construction of a novel industrial carpet backing process based on the use of enzymatically “in situ” generated natural adhesives.
  • The objective of ERUTAN is to catch at least 10% of the woollen carpet market in Europe during the first full year of production, which equals a production of ca. 2.37 million m² by means of the innovative processes.
  • At the end of the project, these processes will change the environmental impact of woollen floor coverings manufacturing as well as wool being used for other purposes. At that time ERUTAN intends to achieve 25% reduction of CO2-emissions, 100% reuse of waste and material recycling and 20% reduced energy consumption compared to the conventional processes as a baseline.
